FAQs

Here you’ll find answers to our most frequently asked questions - from the ingredients we use to how best to store and enjoy our products.

Where are your products made?

All of our products are freshly made and baked here in Cheltenham with the main production site for bread and pastries being our Bakehouse Unit in Battledown next to our original shop. However, fresh goods are also baked at Dunkertons and the back area of our original shop at Saxon Way.

Do you use any preservatives or additives?

Absolutely not! All our products are fresh and honest with time-honoured techniques. Our bread is 100% certified organic. We import many of our ingredients directly from France to ensure the best; including our butter, flour, chocolate and Guérande Sea Salt.

Our products are best enjoyed fresh!

Bread: Our sourdough loaves will keep the longest, store in one of our La Boulangerie Artisan paper bags at room temperature and consume within 2-3 days. Please be aware that baguettes, French bloomers, ciabattas and focaccias have a shorter shelf life than our selection of sourdough loaves.

Pastries: Best stored in a La Boulangerie Artisan greaseproof bag or airtight container, enjoy within 1-2 days.

All of our bread and pastries can also be frozen for up to a month; just reheat in your oven before serving. Our Battledown shop offers bread-slicing which some customers find useful when freezing their bread.

All of our bread is naturally vegan, apart from special edition focaccias but this will be disclosed in store if this is the case. We have a staple vegan pastry being the Vegan Escargot; a laminated, caramel, hazelnut and praline pastry.

Currently our gluten-free options are limited; we have a lemon and poppy seed Palet for pastry. However, we cannot guarantee that this product is fully free from traces of gluten.

Lastly, our Extra Sourdough is an extra fermented loaf of sourdough helping with digestion, which many gluten intolerant people have found to work for them. However, this is to be judged at the consumers discretion regarding intolerances as we do not claim any of our products to be 100% gluten free.
